Callwave Review (Internet Answering Machine)
Internet Answering Machine
I have one cell phone, and one business phone and both these numbers are provided on my business cards, because I want to make sure that I get the calls and not miss them. I also have voicemails on both these numbers.
So technically I am totally covered, one way or the other I will get the message if I miss the call. However the only problem is that I do not have fixed hours when I will be available on which number and even if I did, it would just take so much real estate on my business cards, so as a result, my callers (usually the first time callers) either call me on my cell, or my work number. Seldom do they call on both numbers. And the reason for them not calling both numbers is the voicemail. They call me on one number, hit the voicemail, leave the message and they keep waiting for me to get back to them.
Now if I am travelling, I do get my emails on my phone, but just checking my voicemail could be a problem as it can be a roaming charge to just check my mail, and at other times I am just so busy that I don't have the time to Call a voice mail number, go through each voice message, make notes of it and then get back to the callers. Checking my voicemail on the work number, by remotely calling in, just looks like too much of a hassle, but I would do it if I am "expecting" an important call. If I am not expecting a call, forget about it (no offense, but usually I get so busy that it just doesn't happen).
So even though I am totally covered, I had adjusted to this process of not being able to get back to people who really mattered because of the situation that I was in, like traveling, conferences, working too much, etc.
This is where the Internet Answering Machine came in the picture. I know one thing for sure, no matter where I am, on the airport, in the plane, in a cab, in a train, a bus, a restaurant, waiting for someone out in a park, in a cinema hall, or anywhere else, I will check my email as frequently as I possibly could. So if there was a way for me to get an email when someone calls me, I KNOW right away that I missed a call. NOTE THE WORDS - "I KNOW", as that is value and a solution to my "hassle" mentioned above.
Now let's take it to the next level. If I had an ability to get back to the person who called, without my requiring to call back, it would just be a TURNKEY BUSINESS COMMUNICATION SERVICE for me. So with the Callwave Internet Answering Machine, I could do just that. You could reply by Text Message.
The above is when I am out, traveling, and at times when I am "NOT" online on my computer. But when I am online, it gets more interesting. I can now screen my calls. Check this out:
With that said, I now have a service that rocks and the best thing is that it is just a fraction expense of both my existing phones (Cell and Work). You get a new number that you can send to people through your business cards (saves you real estate and hides your cell phone from just anyone out there), website or brochures. When people call you on this number, you can decide where the calls go - Your cell or Work number. The software downloads in 30 seconds, so in less than one minute from now, you could be using this service, but I recommend that you "TRY before you BUY" as Callwave gives you an option to try it risk-FREE for 30 days!
